Grace Institute Converse with Confidence
June 15th, 2017
Join the Women’s Bond Club for a volunteer event at Grace Institute on June 15, 2017. Converse with Confidence helps Grace Institute participants prepare for the next step of their career journey. Volunteers will be working with participants to help hone their skills through mock interviews and practice questions. Volunteers will provide feedback on the overall impression of the interviewee, their ability to articulate thoughtful responses to questions and their resume walkthrough. Sample interview questions will be provided to help volunteers prepare as well as a number of tips on providing constructive feedback.
WBC volunteers partnered with the Grace Institute for the Converse with Confidence event, helping women prepare for the next step of their career journey. Volunteers worked with students to help them hone their skills through mock interviews, helping women hone their “brag” and dress for success. In the words of WBC volunteers:
* Elise Kim, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to support Grace students and work with them to improve their interview skills…the women we met with were poised and confident and it was a wonderful experience!”
* Marlei Buonomo, “I had an amazing experience speaking to four women and helping them master the skill of communicating with confidence. I enjoy helping others and empowering women to realize their full potential…I am grateful to be part of this fantastic community of women that focus on helping others.”
* Chardee Allee, “It was a fantastic opportunity to help these ladies on their next step towards a new career. I hope they always maintain their passion and enthusiasm that I felt throughout the event.”
* Anne Matrone, “The students at Grace were professional and eager for feedback. This was a great opportunity to connect them with our “real world” experience, and enhance their confidence in their interviewing skills. It was a great event all around!” It was a wonderful evening filled with inspiration and power. WBC is very fortunate to have a Grantee partner helping to transform the lives of underserved women.
