Diana Buxton has a strategic growth marketing mindset with 20+ years of success unlocking and accelerating revenue growth, creating awareness and activating the buyer audience, spurring new sales activity, and establishing superior c-suite relationships. Diana is a trailblazer for modern marketing strategy, evidenced by being a 5-time award winner in the Marketing Excellence Awards by the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA) while working with some of the top financial services thought leaders.

Most recently, as the Chief Marketing Officer of Financial Services, Diana transformed her high performing marketing team to be a critical growth engine for Cognizant. She and her team generated demand, engagement, consideration and marketing influenced TCV (Total Contract Value in annual revenue) for industry offerings aligned to the Financial Services business unit (Banking, Capital Markets & Insurance). Diana was responsible for developing, launching and activating programs via various disciplines: C-Suite Marketing, Account-Based Marketing (ABM), Digital Campaign Development, Thought leadership, Solution Marketing, Big Deal support, Social media and Experiential events.

Under Diana’s DEI & Sustainability leadership, she is the Vice President on the executive board of directors of the Women’s Bond Club of New York, she was Cognizant’s first MAKERS Honoree in 2018, and expanded Cognizant’s Women Empowered (WE) affinity program to include New York City and was its WE NYC leader since its inception in 2015. With Sophia Mendelsohn, Cognizant's Chief Sustainability Officer, she formed a Cognizant ESG FS Women's Council in 2021 and this esteemed group met throughout the year.

 Prior to joining Cognizant, Diana was a member of the Capco North America partner team, where she headed marketing and public relations. Before that, she spent over six years at BearingPoint until May 2005, when she and 40 of her BearingPoint Financial Services colleagues joined Capco to expand the company’s Americas footprint after its acquisition by PwC.

Diana is a passionate supporter of a culture of opportunity and individual freedom for all, tempered by personal responsibility. She is actively involved with International Vision Volunteers and participates in a yearly mission trip with her husband, Douglas F. Buxton, MD.


Diana and Douglas live in Manhattan with their rescue dog, AJ, Her interests are book club, tennis, paddle, golf, soul cycling to the perfect song and spending time at the beach and on the ski slopes with family and friends.
