Membership
The Membership and Corporate Outreach Committee is Co-Chaired by Karen Lorentz and Suzanne O'Connell, Board members of the WBC. The Membership Committee focuses its attention on on-boarding new Corporate and Individual members and managing their participation in the WBC. The activities associated with the Committee are: new member onboarding, extensive liaison work with new and current members, database updating, assisting Events Committee in planning New Member events and analyzing monthly membership statistics to assure that our Corporate Member firms are getting the most of their membership. The Committee is supported by a Membership Coordinator.
In addition, the Corporate Outreach Committee targets financial service firms whose diversity programs might benefit from membership in the WBC and would also round out the WBC corporate membership roster. The Committee taps the WBC’s broad network when soliciting new corporate member firms, prepares pitch documents and presents to decision makers. In addition, the Co-Chairs and Committee members often assist Corporate Member firms with their own outreach and networking events. We also work with our Corporate Member firms and other industry groups in identifying and sharing best practices.
The time commitment averages one hour per week. Work can be performed individually or as part of a team of committee members. The Committee as a group meets monthly either in-person or via a conference call.
