As the CMO of Banking, Capital Markets and Insurance, Diana Buxton leads the efforts of a $5B practice across North America. She and her team focus on creating demand for Cognizant’s deep vertical expertise and consultative approach to drive better decision-making for clients operating in the new digital marketplace. Diana’s innovative marketing strategies drive growth across the practice, increasing brand awareness and reputation, building pipeline, spurring new sales activity and revenue, and establishing deeper relationships with new buyer audiences.
Prior to joining Cognizant in 2014, Diana was a member of the Capco North America partner team, where she led marketing and public relations. Before that, she spent over six years at BearingPoint until May 2005, when she and 30 of her BearingPoint Financial Services colleagues joined Capco to expand the company’s North American footprint after its acquisition by PwC.
Diana is a trailblazer for marketing innovation, evidenced by the many ITSMA award-winning programs she has developed throughout her career while working with some of the top financial services thought leaders. She is the executive sponsor for Cognizant’s Women’s Bond Club of New York and its Rising Star program. Under Diana’s leadership, Cognizant expanded its Women Empowered program to include New York City.
Diana is a passionate supporter of a culture of opportunity and individual freedom for all, tempered by personal responsibility She is actively involved with International Vision Volunteers and participates in a yearly mission trip with her husband, Douglas F. Buxton, MD. She is an unabashed foodie and oenophile. Diana and Douglas are renowned for their unique and imaginative interpretation of the Argentine “asado” cuisine, hosting multiple grilling events for family and friends throughout the year. Diana, Douglas and their rescue dog, AJ, reside on the upper east side and spend their weekends in Southampton
